Welcome to Blue Spruce Theatre

Blue Spruce Theatre logo

For the past four years, Blue Spruce Theatre has produced exciting, intimate musical theater that asks and answers important questions about how we connect as people. We want to continue to bring you these innovative and enjoyable works. Unfortunately, ticket revenue only pays for approximately 1/3 of our production costs. With no other source of funding, our current model is not sustainable. Therefore, we are going to be spending the bulk of 2011 restructuring the organization so that we can carry on our tradition of top-quality production values.

Since our focus this year is building a sustainable model, and converting to a fully non-profit (501(c)3) structure, we will not be producing a show for 2011. However, we are going to stay active within the small theater community. We will be participating in events with the Small Theatre Alliance of Boston throughout the year, among other things, and you may see our name pop up when you least expect it!

If you think you might be able to help us this year, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Also, you can still make donations on our Donate page. (Donations to Blue Spruce Theatre are usually tax-deductible - please see the Donate page for full details!)

Small Theatre Alliance of Boston logo Please help keep small theater alive and support our fellow member companies of the Small Theatre Alliance of Boston. More importantly, spread the word about the wonderful work that is happening in small theater in and around Boston. Bring someone who has never seen a "small" work before with you the next time you see a show, and help keep small, intimate and engaging works alive.

We are also upgrading our website with new, exciting content about our previous productions. If you want to be notified about updates, please join our Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter.
